one cool bird...
This little sea bird didn't seem bothered by the temperature of the iceberg he was sitting on... amazing!
harbor seals on ice!
A mother seal and her baby stayed on their floating ice bed until we got too close for comfort. Seconds after Alice shot this photo, they slid off into the frigid water.

Prince Rupert is one of the rainiest places on the west coast, so wet it is against the law to have hooved animals here as the wet ground does their feet in. Alice caught this great shot over the marina one day...

Little Miss Kaeli is growing up! She is now in kindergarten and learning to read and spell rapidly~ She loves spending time with her daddy, too. Of course Eric loves her dearly, as well.

Alice enjoyed spending time with her sister Ann while we were in Tennessee. Ann even gave her several family treasures, including two tins of old buttons- perhaps some she played with as a child!
roommates
Carol and Alice roomed together for a year after they began teaching in So. California. It was great to catch up and also to tour the lovely city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where Carol has lived for many years.

Alice has been on a roll with her jewelry making lately, inspired by friend Carolyn and the many cool bead shops in the area...

Alice was thrilled to spend time with her friend Margo while she was in Utah in May.
New horns for foggy days...
Bill and Eric installed new horns on Grey Wolf so she can be heard, if not seen, in the fog of the Pacific Northwest!
Old Glory Flying High Again
While in other countries, it is a courtesy to fly their flags at the highest location on one's boat. This is the first time the Stars and Stripes has had top billing in 5 1/2 years!

Alice and Bill went ashore to hang their updated sign (in background) on the Cruisers' Tree. It now shows our visits in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010~
the captain is 29---- AGAIN!
Barry and Alice fixed a barbeque dinner on the beach at San Juanico to honor Captain Bill on his 44th anniversary of his 29th birthday~

Barry came out in his dinghy to help us navigate the channel into the harbor at Puerto Penasco. There are shoals on each side so one must stay lined up in the center to avoid going aground... thanks, Barry!

About Me
- Bill and Alice Johnson
- We are loving the retired life and enjoying every minute of this adventure. As you have seen in our blog entries, we have now visited Pacific Mexico extensively, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama for five and a half years. We returned to San Diego in April, 2011 and a month later Bill and two crew members headed north to Puget Sound, Washington. Tacoma became Grey Wolf's new homebase. We traveled some in Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands, and then made the big adventure a reality by traveling the coast of British Columbia in May of 2012. We arrived in Southeast Alaska in early June, traveling north as far as Glacier Bay and points in between. What a glorious trip it was! We returned to Tacoma near the end of August.
